Bollywood music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy were recently roped in by the submarine arm of the Indian navy to develop a theme song that celebrates 50 years of acquiring India's first submarine (India got its first submarine from Russia in 1967).
The three-minute track, titled Lehron Se Geherayion Tak, has been penned by Captain Sudeep Sen, a serving submariner. The song released across digital platforms on February 13.
Talking to hitlist, Ehsaan Noorani says, "We have immense respect for our armed forces and we are always there to support a project they want us to. A few years ago, we went to Kargil to perform for the Indian army. When we were approached to compose a song for the submarine arm of the navy, we were thrilled. They loved the track. We hope we get to do more of this."
Lehron Se Geherayion Tak will also be converted into a marching tune by the naval band, which will be played at parades and other forces events.
