Indo-Canadian singer Shashaa Tirupati, who recently crooned the rehashed version of AR Rahman's Humma Humma in OK Jaanu, has recorded a cover of the bhajan, Vaishnav Jana Toh, which was known to be Mahatma Gandhi's favourite.
This is the youngster's way of paying a tribute to the Father of the Nation on Republic Day.
"We have maintained the simplicity and purity of the original song," says the singer. Now, let's wait to see how it's received.
