Sona Mohapatra and Ram Sampath
Whenever they have joined forces, composer Ram Sampath and singer Sona Mohapatra have given us soulful compositions, including Ambarsariya (Fukrey, 2013) and Bekhauff Azad (Satyamev Jayate, 2012). Now, the duo has reunited to create a vibrant anthem, Khelenge shaan se, for the opening ceremony of Khelo India University Games that will be held in Odisha from February 22 to March 1.
Mohapatra says collaborating with Sampath comes naturally to her as they share a similar creative vision. "We have been each other's sounding boards for as long as I can remember, and are familiar with each other's strengths and weaknesses. The Khelo India anthem is close to our hearts and we can't wait to perform it to a roaring stadium crowd at the opening ceremony. Ram is choosy about his work and maybe the silent partner in our team, but I believe no one can create a catchy stadium chant like he can," enthuses the singer.
