Debutant director Faruk Kabir has wrapped up the shoot of Allah Ke Bandey. The film, based on juvenile crimes, stars Naseeruddin Shah, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni, Anjana Sukhani, Zakir Hussain and Rukhsar.
A while back, B-Town was abuzz about Rukhsar, (now seen in the soap Bhaskar Bharti) and Faruk being an item. She is also a good pal of his sister, Sanober Kabir.

Not seeing Rukhsar

But he points out, "I am not seeing Rukhsar. I know that there was gossip doing the rounds about us. But Rukhsar is an easy-going and friendly person. She remains a good friend not only of mine but my entire family as well. I am 28 and trying to find my bearings in the industry; at the moment, it is only work for me."

Faruk is also acting in Allah Ke Bandey. "I have been getting acting offers but as writer-director at the moment I am concentrating only on it. Nowadays, there are writer-directors who also act! But I have yet to make up my mind on that front."

On actual locations

Allah Ke Bandey, produced by Ravi Walia (De Taali, Fight Club), is slated to release on October 30. "Obtaining the required permissions was difficult as we wanted actual locations. But now that the film is complete, it was well worth the waiting for the sanctions to shoot at the juvenile institutes."

About casting Naseer he says, "A meeting was fixed and I gave him the script to read. Initially, I only wanted him to react to the story. Two weeks later, I got a call from his secretary to meet him. As soon as I landed at his home, he opened the door and gave me a hug. He congratulated me on the script and said he'd love to be part of it."

Faruk began by directing music videos and has also made two documentaries.
