Standing ovation for 'Masaan' at Cannes Film Festival

Debutant director Neeraj Ghaywan's film, 'Masaan', which is competing in the Un Certain Regard section of the ongoing Cannes Film Festival, got a five-minute standing ovation after the screening.

It left Ghaywan and the film's cast Richa Chadda, Vicky Kaushal and Shweta Tripathi emotional. Richa says, "I saw the film for the first time. It was such an overwhelming response. We were remembering the long journey that the making of this film was."

Sanjay Mishra, who features in 'Masaan', could not make it to Cannes at the last-minute due to his work commitments. The actor had reportedly stated that he was looking forward to wear a tuxedo and attend the festival.
