The film attempts to throw light on the modus operandi of the killer and the sudden closure of the case that raised several questions on the police force and its working.

What's it about:

Based on the '83 serial killings involving gruesome murders of pavement dwellers, the film attempts to throw light on the modus operandi of the killer and the sudden closure of the case that raised several questions on the police force and its working. Sanjay (Menon) leads the hunt to trace the Stoneman (dubbed after his style of murdering victims using large rocks). The film follows Sanjay as he tries to use leads and clues to solve the puzzle that's plagued the entire city.

What's hot:
u00a0Kay Kay is first rate in his portrayal of Sanjay. His angst and frustration is well portrayed. Manish Gupta succeeds in re-creating the '80s with the use of old PCO boxes, billboards, Panama cigarettes) and locations. Even though it isn't an outright whodunnit, Gupta manages to keep you guessing.

What's not:
Except for the title track, the songs hamper the film's pace. Sanjay's romantic track with his wife is totally unnecessary and doesn't take the story forward. The second half needed to be tighter, the ending more cohesive. What starts off as a realistic thriller turns into a clichu00c3u00a9d potboiler.

What to do:
Watch it for Kay Kay who proves yet again why he's the most under-rated actor in the industry.
