SADMA: I was told by people who had seen it that Sridevi and Kamal Haasan were simply fab. They also told me that it will make you cry. Even after being aware of the plot of Balu Mahendra's film, I wept buckets. When I was going home in the cycle rickshaw, I was all teary-eyed. It took me such a long time to come out of the Sadma mode.
AAKALI RAJYAM: K Balachander's Telugu film had Kamal Haasan and Sridevi. Apart from its melodious scores, what I can still recall is Kamal Haasan's role of an unemployed guy and what hunger can make people do. I was shocked to see that he would actually imagine that he was eating even though he wasn't and how people abuse. This film took me to the world of corruption, joblessness and the rat raceu00a0-- a side of life unaware to me at that time.
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS: It was a family outing with my grandparents in Hyderabad. This was one of those films which was a must-see. This epic about Moses took us kids to the world of the Hebrews and Pharoahs. And that we should remember it for history.
MUQADDAR KA SIKANDAR: After seeing this film, I was in such a sad state for days. The track O Saathi Re Tere Bina... used to put me further in a glum situation. I used to think that the love, friendship, sacrifice that was shown was so true that I would feel bad for the characters, especially Muqaddar!
LAUREL AND HARDY: This laugh riot was yet again one of those family trips to the theatres in Hyderabad. All the kids had to see it and we would squeal in delight especially seeing Hardy's antics.
