He might be in and out of the entertainment circuit, but he always comes back looking the same. Yudhishtar Urs, better remembered as VJ Yudi, has always taken his fitness seriously. And the results are for all to see. Gearing up for a film, Yudhistar shares his fitness regime with CS:
Exercise wise
I have a very flexible regime, as I get bored doing the same exercises everyday. So I mix it up with a day at the gym where its cardio, weights, and lots of Plyometric core strengthening exercises, and head for a run or cycle every alternate day. I also like to do some Parkour-style free running, which helps me build on stamina, strength and flexibility. The idea behind changing my fitness regime is to shock the muscles and not allow the body to become immune.
On my plate
I eat a lot of fruits and drink fruit smoothies for breakfast. Lunch has a lot of grilled or steamed fish with loads of veggies with some red rice. A mid-evening snack of a fruit smoothie or a salad works for me. For dinner, I have some fish, soup and grilled veggies. One or two days a week I like to binge on my fave foods. That way I don't let my body crave for the wrong things. Also, wheat grass shots, spirulina and vitamin tablets are a part of my diet, as I don't like taking artificial supplements.
Shaping up
Fitness is a very important part of my life as I'm in an industry where I'm expected to look good. If I don't take my fitness seriously, there'll be someone younger and better who will take my place. Usually when I look in the mirror, I am motivated to get up and go to the gym. It's always that 'Oh my God! I look fat' fear that motivates me to head to the gym. Also, a night of partying is motivation enough to work off the beers (laughs).
