Anurag Kashyap shared the above trailer on his Twitter account @anuragkashyap72 on Thursday. The trailer launch coincides with today's ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 quarterfinals between India and Bangladesh. In a bid to promote the film's trailer, Ranbir Kapoor turned a Hindi commentator for the match.

Until now, makers of the film had only revealed the looks of Ranbir, Anushka and Karan, and a poster, which created a lot of buzz around the film.

Ranbir plays the role of Johnny Balraj, a street fighter, while Anushka essays the role of Rosie Noronha, an aspiring Jazz singer. Karan Johar, who will be seen in his first full-fledged role in Bollywood, plays the baddie, Kaizad Khambatta in 'Bombay Velvet'.
An adaption of historian Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables', 'Bombay Velvet' is set in the Bombay of 1960s and revolves around the story of Johnny Balraj and Rosie.
The film is slated to release on May 15.
