It was time for some dhol and bhangra at this Baisakhi celebration and award ceremony in town. Stand-up comedian Ahsaan Qureshi put up a funny act for the audience. Actor-dancer Kunwar Amarjeet Singh was felicitated as part of the occasion. It was attended by many prominent members of the Punjabi community of Mumbai. A sumptuous fare was laid out for the guests post the event.

On a roll

I made my red carpet debut when I attended the first look for my film, Fashion.

I was wearing a Narendra Kumar outfit and had splashed my body with shimmer as I usually do for my ramp shows. I was shining like a star but soon realised that shimmer and oil were a complete no-no for red carpets!
I had a lot of fun at the event and learnt a lesson or two about red carpet looks at the same time. Luckily, I was wearing a lovely gown and that pretty much made up for the oodles of shine and shimmer. The fashion police gave me a thumbs up. Needless to say, it was an occasion to cherish.
