This could be one of the classic cases of counting your chicken before they hatch. The makers of 'Bullett Raja' apparently seem to have become its latest victim, after allowing its cast to rehearse on a dance number, all the while hoping to acquire the song's rights. Unfortunately for them, the music label that holds the rights refused to part with them.
Insiders say choreographer Ganesh Acharya led the film's cast to match his steps on lyrics from 'Pyar Mein Dil Pe' from the film 'Mahaan' that had been incorporated into a music track for 'Bullett Raja'. However, HMV allegedly threw cold water on the plans of the makers' refusing to part with the lyrics.
An insider says, "The makers didn't have the rights to the song that had been recorded by the music group RDB. They had no choice but to drop the lyrics." The film stars Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha.
Surj from the music band says, "The track 'Tamache pe disco' was originally composed by us after incorporating certain snatches from 'Pyar Mein Dil'. When the producers requested us for the song, we had to shoot the music video in a matter of few days."
However, a source close to the makers, says, "Nothing was finalised. So the question of acquiring rights does not arise."
The spokesperson of the production house says, "The scratch provided by RDB had the lines 'Pyar Mein Dil Pe'. However, for our film, we wanted an original composition and we requested them to provide us with the same. And that is what is being used in the film." u00a0
