Yash Raj Films and Aditya Chopra have never believed in promoting their films way before their release. However in Adi's younger brother Uday's next project Pyaar Impossible, they are making an exception. A website has been created to provide all information from Day One. We catch up with Uday on what made YRF bend the rules...
I wanted to do something different. Our head of marketing came up with this idea. It was time to do something like this and see where it went.
Does this mean that YRF will be more open with other projects too?
I can't comment on how each film will be marketed as every project has to go its own way. I just felt that this was right for Pyaar Impossible.
Did you have to convince Adi about it?
Adi is supportive; I don't need to convince him. If it is something I believe in strongly, he will always back me.

How involved are you in the website?
YRF's internet division head along with the chief designeru00a0 presented the site to me before it went live and I was thrilled; I approved it immediately. They keep me up-to-date on what is happening.
Elaborate on the Pyaar Impossible website.
www.pyaarimpossible.in is the first of its kind. One can get all the latest happenings and information about the movie. Since it is something new, I believe it is going to be a dynamic process and the interactivity of the site will be something that develops as we learn what the users would like to see. We may have contests, too, at a later stage.
It's said that Pyaar Impossible is based on your own love story.
It's not true. As a writer, one does borrow from one's life experiences but this has nothing to do with my life. I just feel that the character I am playing in the film that of a geek is something I am very close to.
Apparently Aditya is very involved in daily shoots of YRF films andu00a0 reshoots scenes he doesn't like. Does he ghost-direct in Pyaar Impossible, too?
Ha! Ha! No way! Adi is a strong believer in nurturing talent and he'd never hamper the growth of any filmmaker by forcing his opinions on them; least of all, me his brother.
