Abhishek Banerjee will be seen playing the menacing and intimidating character âSukha' in Disney+ Hotstar's âApurva'. The actor opened about what drew him towards it will be seen playing the menacing and intimidating character âSukha' in Disney+ Hotstar's âApurva'. When asked, what drew him to his character, he shares, "By nature, I am an introvert, who is finding stories that can be my way to be an extrovert. The confidence I lack in life, I seek in my characters"
He further adds, "I enjoy playing negative roles that are about playing âAlpha' and then also do comic roles where the audiences find me cute. I like to keep innovating with my roles which brings immense satisfaction to me as an actor."
âApurva' is the story of an ordinary girl who faces extraordinary circumstances and will do anything to survive and live. Set in one of the most dangerous places in India - Chambal, the movie is presented by some of India's leading creative powerhouses who have come together for this gritty thriller.
The movie stars Tara Sutaria in the lead role. To fit the role, Tara underwent a radical makeover. The actress recently took to her Instagram to reveal that she went weeks without taking a shower or brushing her hair to fully inhabit her role in the movie.

She wrote, "I am proudest of APURVA because I filmed every shot in the film myself. No excuses. I've never felt more strength and power than when we filmed.. ( @nix_bhat I owe a great deal to you for this, sir. ) I recall not showering for over a week mid-schedule so that I looked and felt as awful as I was meant to, I rolled in mud and ash ( this was honestly fun ) and my hair wasn't brushed for weeks on end! Here's a little peek into how I looked when we shot the poster.. Thank you all for SO much love. We as a team are overwhelmed. @avigowariker, thank you for all your help throughout the day."
