Sanjay Leela Bhansali's drama Gangubai Kathiawadi was announced in 2019 and it was also announced that the film will open in cinemas on September 11, 2020. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the new date is yet to be announced. This drama that traces the journey of a girl who's sucked into the world of flesh-trade and becomes the most dreaded female gangster stars Alia Bhatt as the eponymous character.
A report by Bollywood Hungama has now reported that due to exhaustion and exertion, Bhatt was hospitalised for a day. A source told the portal, "Alia Bhatt is back to work after her break in the month of December 2020 when she was in Ranthambore National Park. The actress resumed shooting earlier last week. But, due to exertion and exhaustion, on Sunday, January 17, she was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai."
The source added, "After taking some rest and regaining strength, she was discharged on the very same day. Alia Bhatt, who is very professional, wants to complete her commitments, and returned to the sets of Gangubai Kathiwadi on January 18, 2021."
Talking about the same, her co-star from the film, Seema Pahwa spoke to The Times of India. She said, "I wasn't a part of the shoot that day. However, I must say that she might have got exhausted for some other reason than the film's shoot. Sanjay Leela Bhansali is someone who doesn't rush you with work. He knows what he wants. He is very clear and hardly shoots one scene a day. Things have worked smoothly as far as the film's shoot is concerned."
