Today is a memorable day for Alia Bhatt, as the actress is all set to receive her first-ever National Award for her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. The film earned her praise from both critics and fans. The winners were previously announced at a press conference for the 69th National Film Awards in August. The all-important ceremony is taking place at the Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi, where Alia, along with her fellow National Award winners, will be felicitated by none other than President Droupadi Murmu.
For the event, National Awardees Waheeda Rehman, Alia Bhatt, and Kriti Sanon were dressed similarly in cream sarees. However, there was something special about Alia's outfit that caught our attention. Alia Bhatt was seen entering the venue with her supportive husband, Ranbir Kapoor. Alia chose a beautiful cream saree heavily decorated with golden borders, and it was not just any other saree but the same one she wore on her wedding day. Yes, you read it right; the actress wore her wedding saree on this special day. She adorned intricate, heavy jewellery, and her hair was tied in a chic bun decorated with flowers. She elevated her look by wearing a beautiful red bindi on her forehead. Ranbir, on the other hand, complemented his wife in a black button-up suit.
The glamorous outfit is a creation by Sabyasachi. On her wedding day, Alia wore a matching veil covering her head, and the jewellery was also by Sabyasachi.
