In what was touted as one of the most eagerly awaited collaborations in Bollywood, director Anees Bazmee and actor Shahid Kapoor were all set to team up for the uproarious comedy film, "Double Trouble." Fans and industry insiders alike were buzzing with excitement when news of this partnership first broke.
Initially, the film was slated to commence production in August 2023, but unfortunately, the project took an unexpected turn when creative differences between Anees Bazmee and Shahid Kapoor came to light. The promising project seemed to be on the rocks. In a recent interview with News 18, Anees Bazmee confirmed the disheartening news - "Double Trouble" has been put on hold indefinitely. Although he remained tight-lipped about the exact nature of the dispute with Shahid Kapoor, he did reveal, "I'm not doing the film with Shahid Kapoor."
However, despite this setback, Bazmee expressed his unwavering belief in the script, referring to it as something "special." He's determined to breathe new life into the project in the near future, sharing, "I will restart working on the same script after I wrap up the shoot of my next film because it's a great script according to me. I will do it with some other hero."
To shed some light on what could have been, "Double Trouble" promised to be a rollicking comedy with Shahid Kapoor taking on a dual role, alongside Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. There were even discussions about roping in another actress to join the cast. The project was set to be produced by the accomplished Dil Raju.

As for Anees Bazmee, he's not letting this setback keep him down. Following the resounding success of "Singh is Kinng," he's all set to helm the third installment of the "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" franchise. Kartik Aaryan is set to take the reins in this highly anticipated venture, scheduled to kick off production in the first quarter of 2023.
On the other side of the coin, Shahid Kapoor is keeping himself busy with an array of exciting projects. He's set to star in Dinesh Vijan's yet-untitled robot romantic-comedy, opposite the talented Kriti Sanon. This film is expected to grace the big screens on December 7, 2023, promising a unique cinematic experience.
Furthermore, it is reported that Shahid Kapoor will commence shooting for Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews' next thriller drama, "Koi Shaq," in the second week of October. This intriguing project is bankrolled by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Zee Studios, adding to the anticipation surrounding Shahid's upcoming works.
