Milind Soman's wife, Ankita Konwar's latest post on Instagram is winning the hearts of people and leaving them in awe. While it is no new that, the couple shares a huge age gap between them, and even though both of them have addressed it on several occasions, it once again popped up during a 'Ask me Anything' session on Instagram.
An Instagram user posed a question to Ankita Konwar, which read, "How did you tackle/ manage this Indian stereotype of "I don't marry an older man?".
Konwar shared the post on her Insta story, answering, "Anything that's not common in a society, people usually like to talk about it. And it's not just limited to India. We as a species, have a tendency to get weird about the unknown, the unexplored, AKA fear. A survival skill. And sometimes we are not conscious enough to distinguish between the utility and the waste of that skill. I have always done what makes me happy. [sic]"
Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar dated for five years before they finally got married. The duo exchanged wedding vows in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, where they went holidaying. They also had a traditional wedding on April 22, 2018. Soman was 52 at the time and Konwar was 26.

The two met at a nightclub, and for Soman it was almost, love at first look. In an interview with mid-day, last year, Milind was quoted saying, "I thought this girl was amazing." But he didn't want to appear like a "predatory Casanova", a description he says is wrongly attributed to him, so he took it slow. They went out on a date two weeks later. He joked about how "traumatic" the whole wedding talk was. "When we met for the first time, we had this chat about marriage and kids, and we both agreed that it was not for us. And I was like, 'yay!'. But a couple of years later, her sister got married, and she said, 'oh! It would be so nice to get married.' And I said, 'excuse me!' It kept cropping up again. Eventually, I got around to it," he says. "But it's been wonderful. I am really happy that we did it. We do everything together, and I think, it has worked well for us," Soman said.
