Trust Chunky Panday to pull off unconventional characters with uncanny ease. With humour being his forte, the actor has delivered classic performances back in the '90s and continues doing so with films like the Housefull franchise. Now, when his daughter Ananya Panday stands tall among the most popular youth stars, people can see glimpses of his comic timing in her.
Today, on Chunky's birthday, here's looking at how he passed on his humour genes to Ananya. In a throwback video, the actress impressed all by imitating her father's iconic dance steps and character looks. From recreating Laal Dupatte Wali song from Aankhen to dressing up like Aakhri Pasta from the Housefull franchise, Ananya was spot-on with her imitation.
Sharing the video on Instagram, Chunky wrote, "Stepping into Dad's Shoe's. @ananyapanday and you did it even better ð¤©ðÂÂÂð I'm a Joking ð ð ð Love you forever."
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Chunky reacted to being called 'Ananya's father'. He said, "Now see, my career has been so colourful. First I was a Hero. Then I became a side Hero. Then I was exported to Bangladesh. Then I came back. Then my comedy phase started, all the characters came. And then came Ananya. Then suddenly, from Chunky Panday, I became the father of Ananya Panday. Which is beautiful, Because, as a parent, as a human being, when your child achieves something, or when people praise the kid, it's the most beautiful feeling."
He added, "I mean, I have enjoyed her success more than my success. I mean, I was too busy working when I was successful. So, I don't remember my success."
Chunky and Ananya shared the screen space in Puri Jagannadh-directed Liger. He played her on-screen father. It was their first film together. Workwise, Chunky was last seen in the web show, Pop Kaun.
Ananya played the female lead in Ayushmann Khurrana's superhit film, Dream Girl 2. Her character, Pari, was Karam's ladylove. The film was declared a box office success as it entered the 100 crore club in India and globally too.
