Talking about her second Hollywood biggie, as stated above, she will not only star in the untitled cross-cultural romantic comedy but will also co-produce it with STXFilms, and Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen's Temple Hill Productions, who previously backed The Fault in our Stars (2014) and the Twilight franchise. Earlier this week , the announcement was made by STXFilms chief Adam Fogelson. "Deepika is enormously talented with an infectious personality and her profile continues to grow as an international superstar. We believe this project gives us the opportunity to tap into the spirit, voice, characters and vibrant settings of India and New York in ways that made Crazy Rich Asians [2018] feel so authentic and fresh," said Fogelson.
Also, Padukone has extended a helping hand to save her life. The acid attack survivor, who is suffering from a life-threatening kidney ailment, urgently needs a kidney transplant to survive. After the word reached Deepika, she donated a generous amount of Rs 10,00,000 to the 'Save Bala' campaign.
Bala is a real-life star who was also featured in the Deepika Padukone-starrer movie 'Chhapaak', directed by Meghna Gulzar, besides appearing on 'The Kapil Sharm Show'. Her condition is deteriorating every day due to the failure of both her kidneys and she's somehow surviving on dialysis. Being an acid attack survivor, her weakened immunity is already a threat to her life.
