Dharma Production`s content head slams Vidhu Vinod Chopra for not giving credits to people
Somen Mishra, Head of Content at Dharma Production, has posted a cryptic message addressing a common problem. In the post, the content head shared a video of Rohit Shetty acknowledging the writers and creators of his upcoming series 'Indian Police Force' and highlighted the prevalent issue of directors overlooking their writers. While citing the example of a recent film released on OTT, Somen refrained from naming the director in question.
After Somen's comment, netizens attempted to connect the dots in an effort to understand what he is trying to convey, speculating that Somen might be referring to Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th-grade status.
Somen, while sharing the post, wrote, "Be like Rohit Shetty. Be like my boss KJ. Always acknowledge your writers. Stop hogging all credits. Some directors have a terrible habit of forgetting their writers. Don't be a d''k. A film which released on ott recently and is getting lot of love, nobody knows who has written it or the book on which it is based. Because the director remembers only him doing everything in all his interviews."
Somen had previously taken to his social media and praised director Vidhu Vinod Chopra's â12th Fail', starring Vikrant Massey. However, he also pointed out that Vidhu Chopra did not give due credit.
He said, "As much as we all are praising the film + VVC, I hope he realises he is too chindi with credits, especially writing and editing. Need to stop
For the unversed, the Vikrant Massey starrer has been submitted for the Oscars in 2024 as an independent entry. While confirming the new Vikrant Massey earlier said, "The film 12th Fail has indeed been sent to the Oscars in 2024 as an independent nomination." 12th Fail also stars Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, Sanjay Bishnoi and Priyanshu Chatterjee.
