It's the season of festival of lights. With Diwali 2023 being celebrated in full swing across the country, celebrities are leaving no stone unturned in making the most of the festive period. Be it taking environmental precautions or signing up for some social activity, the industry has reunited to make Diwali a memorable festival.
Joining the bandwagon is Ankit Tiwari. The singer, known for his songs like Teri Galliyan, is often seen participating in social causes and movements that benefit society. Recently, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, stepped forward to spread the word of 'Vocal For Local'. Ankit has extended his support. Sending out a request to his followers, the singer said in an exclusive statement to Mid-Day, "I urge people to go vocal for local and to use local brands instead of going for big names. As PM Modi said our main aim should be Atmanirbhar Bharat and that should be our main agenda to use homeland products also I request everyone to control air pollution and keep environmental concerns in mind while celebrating this festival."
He further shared his Diwali plans and said, "I will be celebrating Diwali with my family my wife Pallavi and my daughter Aarya. We look forward to this festival every year and it's so special. I have amazing memories of Diwali and it's always fun-filled."
Vocal For Local is an idea by the Government of India to encourage and promote local industries and consume homemade and homegrown products as a way to support small-scale businesses. The aim is to make this a long-term practice and create additional demand to develop domestic industries in the country and be self-sufficient. The campaign urges Indians to shift focus to indigenous products and foster economic growth.
