Exclusive: ‘My daughter Avantika has shot for a web series,’ Bhagyashree

‘Maine Pyar Kiya' actress Bhagyashree catches up with mid-day.com as she speaks about daughter Avantika's acting career, shares the secret behind her youthful looks and son Abhimanyu's co-star Sanya Malhotra.

What is the secret behind your fitness and youthful looks?

I've been a hands on mom, so I didn't have a chance to put on weight while running around managing the house and children. It takes up all of your time. After a health issue I got conscious about what I eat and the way I exercise. I made lifestyle changes that doctors tell us but we don't end up doing. My mother has various ailments and seeing her suffer, she's always told us to be careful because its not the life one wants to lead. With age you have to be careful and I decided I don't want to be dependent on anyone as long as I'm alive. Not holding grudges and being positive too shows on your face.

What are your thoughts about Abhimanyu's co-star Sanya Malhotra?

Abhimanyu keeps teasing me because of my height. My son and daughter have taken after my husband and are tall. They all gang up on me and home and say ‘chota package.' I told Abhimanyu, "Chota package kitna bada bomb hota hai" Sanya is like a bomb of talent. See the kind of work she has done! Choti si chhui mui si lagti hai but she has done brilliant work, its true big things comes in small packages.

Is your daughter Avantika also planning to enter showbiz?

My daughter has shot for a web show. She has decided this is the space she wants to be in.
