Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's latest release 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' has got a roaring response at the box-office as it raked in Rs. 39.12 crore in its opening weekend. Alia Bhatt's film has collected Rs. 57.32 cr in five days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#GangubaiKathiawadi maintains a super-strong grip on Day 5, thanks to the holiday [#MahaShivratri]⦠In fact, Day 5 is almost at par with Day 1⦠Fri 10.50 cr, Sat 13.32 cr, Sun 15.30 cr, Mon 8.19 cr, Tue 10.01 cr. Total: â¹ 57.32 cr. #India biz."

'Gangubai Kathiawadi' tells the tale of a young girl named Ganga who becomes Gangubai, a madame in the red light area of Kamathipura.
It is loosely based on the true story of Gangubai Harjivandas, popularly known as Gangubai Kothewali, whose life was documented in the book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai', written by S. Hussain Zaidi.
An unseen picture from the premiere of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' recently made its way to the Internet and has gone viral since then. The picture in question has the director posing with actresses Alia Bhatt, Rekha and Deepika Padukone.
Sudeep Chatterjee, the cinematographer of 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' shared the image on Twitter with the caption, "Happiness" followed by the #Gangubai Kathiawadi. In the picture, the director is wearing a black kurta while the three actresses are draped in white sarees.
