Sonakshi Sinha and Rajkummar Rao
Rajkummar Rao is the latest actor to foray into production. The actor is reportedly teaming up with Netflix for his maiden venture, a crime comedy titled Toaster. He will also play the protagonist, and has roped in Sonakshi Sinha as the leading lady. While details like the director, cast and plot are being closely guarded, sources claim that shooting will begin later this year. In the interim, Raj will complete director Karan Sharma's Bhul Chuk Maaf with Wamiqa Gabbi, and producer Jay Shewakramani's yet-untitled thriller. For now, he has Mr & Mrs Mahi, Stree 2 and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video lined up for release. Sonakshi, last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, has the horror comedy Kakuda, and brother Kussh Sinha's Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness, with Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal.
Ranveer Singh's sudden exit from director Prasanth Varma's tentatively-titled Rakshas has caused a loss of R25 crore to the production house, Mythri Movie Makers. Signing the actor and shooting the announcement promo over four days have all come to nought. The makers are miffed that after initiating coversations with Prasanth and requesting Mythri to back the project, Ranveer abruptly left without any discussion and even leaked the news to the media. Shocked with the turn of events, they apparently questioned his professionalism when he informed them that he was opting out due to personal reasons. Sad!

Abdu Rozik declined to participate in the reality show due to his wedding with Amira, on July 7. The Bigg Boss 16 contestant reportedly said that he doesn't want any injury marks to ruin his wedding album. "Everyone has a dream to look perfect for their big day, and I am no exception. Kriti Sanon completed 10 years in Bollywood on Thursday. She marked the milestone on social media with a video comprising scenes from her various films over the years. Calling her time in the Hindi film industry the "most magical decade of her life so far," she wrote, "Feels like yesterday when I stepped on a film set for the very first time and felt alive, like I was meant to be here. I've learnt so much, grown and evolved both as a person and an actor, found some lovely friends and beautiful equations and made memories that will forever make me smile."
Looks like Kajol is finally borrowing inspiration from actor-husband Ajay Devgn. The feisty actor has signed an action film with Prabhudheva. The yet-untitled film marks their on-screen reunion over 27 years after Rajiv Menon's Minsara Kanavu (1997), which was released in Hindi as Sapnay, and also starred Arvind Swamy as part of the love triangle. One schedule of the upcoming film has been completed and the next leg will be shot in Mumbai in June. Before this, Kajol wrapped up the shoot of director Vishal Furia's Maa. The horror thriller is produced by Ajay, who enjoyed a hit in the same genre with Shaitaan earlier this year.
It appears that Salman Khan won't be hosting Bigg Boss OTT 3 after all. The superstar has begun prep for his next film, director AR Murugadoss' Sikandar for producer Sajid Nadiadwala, which goes on floors on June 27. Recently, reports were rife that Sanjay Dutt, Karan Johar and Anil Kapoor were being approached to host the show in place of Salman. Now, Jio Cinema, which streams the show, has shared the announcement promo. The teaser ends with a voiceover stating, "Yeh season hoga khaas, ekdum jhakaas!" Considering that âJhakaas' has been Anil's decades-old catchphrase, it looks like he has finally agreed to host Bigg Boss OTT 3.
Shah Rukh Khan was discharged from KD Hospital in Ahmedabad last evening. The actor was in the Gujarat city for his Indian Premier League (IPL) team, Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) match with Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday.
