There has been constant chatter about the remake of the Tamil film Vikram Vedha (2017) starring R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi. The latest update is that the project is in an advanced pre-production stage and will most likely go on floors in August. Saif Ali Khan will reprise Madhavan's role of the hard-nosed cop Vikram, and Hrithik Roshan will play Sethupathi's gangster character Vedha. The original's writer-director duo, Pushkar and Gayathri, are on board to direct the Hindi version as well, which will be produced by Neeraj Pandey along with Reliance Entertainment and YNot Studios, who backed the Tamil action thriller.
