Sonam Kapoor with husband Anand Ahuja
Sonam K Ahuja and Anand Ahuja are expecting their first child. The couple, who tied the knot in May 2018, shared the news by posting images of Sonam resting her head in his lap as she holds her baby bump. She wrote, "Four hands to raise you the very best we can. Two hearts that will beat in unison with yours, every step of the way. One family, who will shower you with love and support. We can't wait to welcome you." The Kapoors are naturally over the moon about the addition to their family. An ebullient Anil Kapoor shared that he is preparing for "the most exciting role of my life - grandfather!" "Our lives will never be the same again and I couldn't be more grateful," he added. Our best wishes to the family, especially to the youngest-looking grandfather in B-Town.
Bollywood's original queen Rani Mukerji turned 44 yesterday. She brought in her big day with friends Anil Kapoor, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, casting director Shanoo Sharma and choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant. Rani kept the event just like she keeps her personal life - off-limits for the media. Yesterday, she went out with hubby Aditya Chopra and daughter Adira for a second round of celebration at a popular Bandra eatery. While she posed for the paparazzi there, the reclusive Aditya evaded the cameras and went to a nearby store to get ice-cream for daughter dearest.
After a string of cameos over the past decade, Genelia Deshmukh faced the camera for the comedy-drama, Mister Mummy, yesterday. Like her last Hindi feature film, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya (2012), her latest movie too sees her team up with actor-husband Riteish Deshmukh. The Shaad Ali-directed project sees them play a couple with contrary views on having children. The film will be entirely shot in the UK.
On Monday, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor headed to Varanasi. We hear the duo will shoot the final spell of their long-in-the-making adventure, Brahmastra, over the next few days. Director Ayan Mukerji has lined up a lavish song and some critical scenes for the stint, after which he can say those magical three words - "It's a wrap."
Missed seeing Karisma Kapoor on screen? There's good news. The actor, one of the first mainstream Bollywood heroines to foray into the OTT world with Mentalhood (2020), will soon be seen in another web series. She is collaborating with director Abhinay Deo for a woman-centric show. The Zee5 offering, which marks Abhinay's web series debut, also features Helen in a key role. Interestingly, the veteran actor had last faced the camera for Heroine (2012), starring Karisma's sister Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Sharvari, who made her B-Town debut with Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021), is all set for her next big movie. The actor has been reportedly finalised for a musical love story to be produced by Karan Johar. While the details are being kept under wraps, we hear the makers are keen to sign Ishaan Khatter in the lead.
In January, Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi announced that they are teaming up for Selfiee, a remake of the Malayalam hit, Driving License (2019). Now, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha have joined the comedy-drama to be helmed by Raj Mehta. Giving a glimpse of the madness that's in store, Nushrratt shared a video that saw the four actors performing crazy antics while seated in a car. "All smiles always when surrounded with the best energy," she captioned the video.
Don't be fooled by his mean punches on screen. Off screen, Vidyut Jammwal is the perfect mentor. The actor, who serves as the Dojo Master on India's Ultimate Warrior, was so pleased with the contestants' dedication and the guidance offered by the mentors that he thanked them with personalised notes. Praising them, he says, "With tasks being performed under extreme conditions, the contestants were much more prone to injuries, breakdowns, and emotional outbursts. But it was heartening to see how they uplifted each other in those moments of crisis, while keeping their competitive spirit intact."
