It's been a long road back to the big screen for Tara Sutaria, who will be seen in the thriller movie, Apurva, also starring Abhishek Banerjee, Dhairya Karwa and Rajpal Yadav. The Disney+ Hotstar project will start streaming on November 15. The makers unveiled the first-look posters of the film in New Delhi. Set in Chambal, Apurva is billed as the tale of an ordinary woman who faces extraordinary circumstances and âwill do anything to survive and live', the makers said in a press release.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has allowed regional films dubbed in Hindi to be certified by the regional office, where the original language film was issued a Censor Certificate. An announcement to the effect was made by CBFC CEO Ravinder Bhakar, reversing the board's directive of April 2017 mandating that all regional language films dubbed in Hindi must be certified by the Mumbai head office prior to release. The move shall be implemented on a pilot basis for six months, till April 20, 2024, when the CBFC shall monitor the language expertise, impact on the workload and other aspects at the regional offices before taking a final decision in the matter, said Bhakar.
Writer-lyricist Varun Grover's feature directorial debut, All India Rank, is the opening film of the 12th edition of Dharamshala International Film Festival (DIFF), the organisers announced yesterday. Joram, directed by Devashish Makhija and starring Manoj Bajpayee, will close the gala. The on-ground edition of the festival, to be held from November 4 to 7, moves to the Tibetan Children's Village in Upper Dharamshala, which allows it to expand to a total of four screens. Under the fiction category of the Indian highlights will be the world premiere of Bottle Radha, produced by Pa Ranjith and directed by Dhinakaran Sivalingam. A digital edition will run for audiences unable to attend the event.
Karan Johar made official the news that the newest edition of his upcoming chat show will open with an interview of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. A trailer for the episode was recently cut and showcased bits of their conversation. Among a bunch of topics, it appears that the couple's well-kept secret - that they got engaged as early as 2015 - will be discussed in the show that airs from October 26. Singh is seen stating that he proposed to Padukone at the time so that "nobody else could swoop in. I marked my territory." Padukone wittily responded, "Advance booking."
Actor Prabhas, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film, Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, celebrated his birthday yesterday. On the occasion, his fans in Hyderabad made a record by creating the biggest cutout of him. The colossal cutout was made in Kukatpally, and stands 230 feet tall. Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and KGF director Prashanth Neel. Earlier, the actor had received a gift from a social networking platform that introduced a special emoji modelled after his character from his upcoming film.
Chef Ranveer Brar may be a coveted name in the culinary space today, however, during his college days, he "made ends meet" by making jalebis. "Not a lot of people know that there was a time when making jalebis decided how I would live for the next three months. Selling jalebis was how I made ends meet during my college days. Back then, I used to be incredibly nervous about the overnight fermentation of the batter," he recalled on a reality cooking show that sees him as a judge.
