The Narcotics Control Bureau zonal director Sameer Wankhede, who is hell-bent on unearthing the Bollywood-drugs nexus, has a film connection at home. His wife is actor Kranti Redkar, who starred in Prakash Jha's Ajay Devgn-starrer Gangaajal (2003). She has been part of several Marathi films, including Karaar (2017), No Entry Pudhe Dhoka Aahey (2012) and wielded the directorial baton for Kaakan (2015). Redkar is best remembered for Jatra (2006), which featured the chartbuster Kombdi palali, tangdi dharun. The couple are parents to twin daughters, Zyda and Ziya. She also has a fashion line named after them. In 2013, Redkar found her name dragged into the Indian Premier League spot-fixing controversy involving S Sreesanth. It was a case of mistaken identity. Redkar, who is social media savvy, is also an influencer. Her husband is rattling showbiz while she is keen to make a mark in it.

The South Korean series, Squid Game, has grabbed attention worldwide, but it's déjà vu for some desi viewers. The latest rage on Netflix is about the rich taking advantage of those in need of money by pitting them against each other in deadly games with a jackpot to be won. B-Town die-hards pointed out that Soham Shah's Luck (2009), starring Sanjay Dutt, Imran Khan and Shruti Haasan, had a similar premise with Dutt's character in need of finances for his wife's surgery. In Squid Game, the character Seong Gi-hun needs money to pay for his mother's operation. "It's the same story but presented better than Luck," a fan tweeted. "It's the TV show form of the movie," posted another. "Bollywood did it first, y'all," reminded a user. Time to revisit Luck?
Nushrratt Bharuccha sprained her leg while shooting for a song in debutant Jai Bantu Singh's Janhit Mein Jaari. She has been advised rest for a few days. A Holi number was being filmed with several background dancers. The actor missed a step and slipped. Initially, Bharuccha thought she would continue with the shoot but the pain was excruciating and needed medical attention.

Siddharth Chopra and South actor Neelam Upadhyaya are going strong. On Tuesday, he marked her birthday by posting, "You have been a great inspiration and an amazing soul to know." Priyanka Chopra Jonas's brother has been unlucky in love with two broken engagements. The star brother and Upadhyaya, who have been together since 2019, often indulge in PDA on social media. She featured in the Telugu film Action 3D (2013) and Tamil films, Unnodu Oru Naal (2013) and Om Shanthi Om (2015).
Two years after she quit acting to heed to her inner calling, Zaira Wasim made a rare appearance on Instagram. She shared a picture of herself in a burqa and wrote, "The warm October sun." Last year, the Dangal (2016) and Secret Superstar (2017) actor had deleted her snapshots. She also told fans to remove her pictures from social media as she began "a new chapter in her life."
Janhvi Kapoor is in Dehradun shooting for father Boney Kapoor's production, Mili. She will be wrapping up a large portion of the remake of the Malayalam film Helen (2019) in various parts of Uttarakhand. Mathukutty Xavier, who helmed the original, is calling the shots for Mili as well. Boney met the state's political bigwigs to explore the possibility of shooting for more films in the mountainous region.
