Kapil Sharma

A biopic on Kapil Sharma is in the works. Fukrey franchise director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba will helm Funkaar, which will narrate the story of the comedian, no-holds-barred. Apart from hosting The Kapil Sharma Show, he is also a singer and actor. Sharma featured in Abbas-Mustan's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015) and Rajiv Dhingra's Firangi (2017). There is widespread speculation about which actor will step into his shoes. "Billions of people get their daily dose of dopamine, courtesy Kapil Sharma. We all need love, life and laughter. We are proud to present comedy superstar Kapil Sharma's untold story on the big screen," said producer Mahaveer Jain. It will trace Sharma's journey from hometown Amritsar to becoming a known name after winning The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and ruling the comedy space. The biopic announcement comes days before the comedian's OTT debut, Kapil Sharma: I'm Not Done Yet, drops on January 28.

Venkatesh Pande needed to jump from a considerable height for a fight sequence in the historical, Kashibai Bajirao Ballal. As he plays the Maratha warrior Bajirao, he enacts several stunts. "I had to place myself atop the tallest structure on the set. I could see the entire ND Studios and the road outside. I am terrified of heights, but I wanted to give my best," says the actor. Having overcome his phobia, he is now enjoying the action scenes.

Action zone

Phulwa and Tenali Rama actor Ajay Singh Chaudhary is keen on balancing his small screen assignments with digital offerings. He plays a gangster in the upcoming web series, Bhaukaal 2, starring Mohit Raina. He also features in Crackdown 2 as a terrorist and the Randeep Hooda-starrer Inspector Avinash as a cop. "These shows allowed me to be part of high-octane action scenes," says Chaudhary.

Kundra's back on the gram

Raj Kundra returned to Instagram with a new profile picture with ‘Love your life' written as his bio. The businessman, who did not post anything new, is now following only one account - of his restaurant Bastian. Kundra had deactivated his social media handles last year after his name figured in a porn films case. Wife Shilpa Shetty, who avoided posting pictures with Kundra due to the scandal, has also started featuring him in her posts. She shared a video of their trip to Shirdi and their Christmas getaway.

Safety first, party later

Rakul Preet Singh celebrated South actor buddy Pragya Jaiswal's birthday at a common friend's home in Bandra. Jaiswal, who turned a year older on January 12, was also keen to celebrate the release of her Telugu film, Akhanda, co-starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. There were seven guests, who tested themselves before the party to ensure everyone's well-being. As they say, no one is safe, until everyone is.

Age no bar

After being trolled for the age difference between her and beau Arjun Kapoor, 36, Malaika Arora, 48, shared a post, which read, "No, but seriously. Normalise finding love in your 40s. Normalise discovering and chasing new dreams in your 30s. Normalise finding yourself and your purpose in your 50s. Life doesn't end at 25. Let's stop acting like it does."

Lohri di vadhaiyaan

Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal celebrated Lohri in Indore where Kaushal has been shooting for Laxman Utekar's film. As it was their first after marriage, hubby dearest took it upon himself to explain the significance of the festival. Kat, who has been following all the Punjabi customs, was dressed in a red salwar suit with mojris. She appeared every inch a Punjabi kudi.

Threads of hope

On the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Akshay Kumar shared a picture of himself flying a kite and penned a thoughtful message. "May Makar Sankranti bring new hope and joy in your lives. Bas vishwas ki dor pakad ke rakhna," wrote the superstar.

Popping with excitement

Kajol shared a glimpse of the Lohri celebrations at their Juhu Scheme home with mother-in-law Veena and sister-in-law Neelam Gandhi. Instead of sweets, the health-conscious Kads posed with a platter of popcorn in the photograph she shared on Instagram. Ajay Devgn was busy shooting for Bholaa, so the Devgn women made merry with the rest of the family.
