Janhvi Kapoor in Roohi
The collections of Janhvi Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao and Varun Sharma's recently-released horror-comedy Roohi, which is the first major Bollywood release post the lockdown, continued to see a decline on the seventh day of its release. It earned a total of R1.22 crore on Wednesday. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the news on Twitter.
Hardik Mehta's horror-comedy had earned R3.06 crore on its opening day. It witnessed a decline in figures on Friday, minting R2.25 crore. However, the film performed well over the weekend. On Monday, it began to see a decline, and has settled on an earnings of R16.41 crore on Wednesday.
Roohi was initially slated to hit the theatres in the first week of June, last year. However, due to the ongoing pandemic, the makers had to postpone the release date.
It is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. The film marks the first-ever collaboration of Rao and Kapoor. Sharma and Rao earlier shared screen space in Dolly Ki Doli (2015).
The horror-comedy was the first film to arrive in theatres after the ministry of information and broadcasting allowed cinema halls nationwide to operate at full capacity from February 1 with the necessary COVID-19 safety protocols in place.
