Bollywood actor Sunny Deol has reflected upon the warmth of Lohri, reminiscing sweet memories of the celebrations. He extended greetings to his fans on the festival. Taking to Instagram, Sunny, who enjoys 3.5 million followers shared a happy picture of himself enjoying the festival.
He can be seen dancing in front of the Lohri fire, wearing a grey long sleeves cardigan, black tee shirt, grey joggers and a black bucket cap. The âTridev' actor penned a heartwarming note, which read as, "Reflecting on the warmth of Lohri, memories of my mom's sweets and the shared laughter of the neighbourhood celebrations flood my heart. In the hustle of today, I cherish those simpler timesâ¦Wishing everyone very prosperous Lohri."
On the work front, Sunny marked a historic success with his action movie âGadar 2' which released on 13 August, 2023. The film upon its release in theatres took the audiences and the box office by storm in India, managing to collect Rs.700 crore worldwide, surpassing its initial box office estimations, which are expected to be maximum of Rs 450 crore for lifetime. The film was currently one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2023, banking on its strong nationalism pitch. 'Gadar 2' is set in the period of 1951 to 1971, as the protagonist Tara Singh once again goes to Pakistan, this time to rescue his son while thrashing the Pakistani Army.
He has 'Border 2' which is expected to go on floors in the first quarter of 2024. While there has been a change of guard with Dutta Sr passing the baton to
producer-writer daughter Nidhi Dutta, one thing about the sequel remains the same - it will be led by Sunny Deol, who was the pillar of the 1997 offering. Sources say the movie will revisit the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
"Nidhi is designing it as the biggest war film made in the country to date. Unlike previous movies that have focused on only one faction of the Defence Forces, the film shows the joint working of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. It has personal stories of the 1971 war heroes and martyrs," says a source. Along with Sunny, it also stars actor Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead.
'Baap', âLahore 1947', and âSoorya' are also some of his future projects.
