State minister Yashomati Thakur on Sunday dug out Anupam Kher's 2010 tweet to share a sarcastic post on the petrol and diesel price hike crisis. She shared the veteran actor's tweet, which read, "My driver Sabir called that he won't come for duty. Why? His reply, âSir, the price rise is not affecting this government, but it is affecting me.'" As the fuel prices have crossed the century mark, Thakur wrote, "Even I am worried for Anupam Kher's driver Sabir now."
This is not the first time that the Congress party has targeted Bollywood stars on petrol diesel price hike. Earlier the Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole also slammed megastar Amitabh Bachchan and other Bollywood celebrities on keeping mum on the petrol-diesel price hike. Not only had this, but Patole even warned the stars about banning their films in the state if they would not speak up on the crisis. Later he apologised for the same.
Recently, Anupam Kher was in the news after is posted a tweet about how his Twitter followers have shrunk by 80,000, in 36 hours. "Dear @Twitter and @TwitterIndia! I have 80,000 less followers in the last 36 hours! Is there a glitch in your app or something else is happening!! It is an observation. Not a complaintâ¦.. yet," Kher had tweeted.
On the work front, the actor is all set to anchor and narrate the upcoming documentary film 'Bhuj: The Day India Shook', the trailer of which was released last week. The documentary talks about the devastating earthquake of 2001 and captures first-person accounts of survivors, rescuers, journalists, photographers, and earth scientists.
