It's double the celebrations for actor Swwapnil Joshi this year. While he is all geared up to celebrate Makar Sankranti 2023, his latest film 'Vaalvi' has just released. The actor spoke to mid-day.com.
How will you be celebrating Makar Sankranti this year?
My daughter is excited to fly kites so will spend the featival with her and the rest of my family.
What are the traditions that your family observes?
We eat gud and til, exchange wishes. It's also a great festival to come together and celebrate by feasting. We dance, observe pooja and all just get together to have fun.
What delicacies are being prepared at home?
Til gud ki chikki, halwa and Puran Poli which is my favorite.
Any childhood memories of the festival that come to mind?
Kite flying, eating all kinds of sweets and going to people's homes to wish them just to get sweets, was a fun memory. We were so naughty when we were kids, would wait for festivals to have fun.
Your film 'Vaalvi' just released...
'Vaalvi' released on 13th and I'm excited as the story line is completely unique. It's a nice, mysterious movie and I would urge all to come watch it.
Upcoming projects?
There is so much in the pipeline, movies and shows but I can't disclose anything for now. The audience will be see different side of me in upcoming days..
