Nicaragua's Sheynnis Palacios has been crowned the Miss Universe 2023. The grand event was held at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. For her final question round, Shennynis was asked "If you could live in another woman's shoes for a year, who would you choose and why?
"I would choose Mary Wollstonecraft because she opened the income gap and gave opportunities to many women. What I would do, I would want that income gap to open so that women could work in any area they would choose to work as there are no limitations for women. That is 1750 and now in 2023 we are making history," she answered in the final round of the pageant.

Australia's Moraya Wilson was the second runner-up while Thailand's Anntonia Porsild was crowned first runner-up at the beauty pageant.
As for India, the country was represented by Chandigarh-born Shweta Sharda. She made it to the top 20 finalists. This year, Pakistan also debuted at the Miss Universe for the first time.
Shweta won the Miss Diva Universe 2023 crown in August. "A tremendous sense of satisfaction and excitement comes from winning the Miss Diva India pageant. I've been dreaming about this moment for so long, and seeing it come true is simply beyond words. I am incredibly grateful and eager for the journey that lies ahead, and I'm looking forward to making my nation and my family proud by bringing the Miss Universe Crown back to India," she had told the media after winning Miss Diva Universe.She has been featured in several dance shows including 'DID', 'Dance Deewane' and ' Jhalak Dikhlaja'.Three Indian beauties won the Miss Universe crown, with Sushmita Sen bagging the title in 1994, Lara Dutta in 2000 and Harnaz Sandhu in 2022.
