Popular and beloved actor Mithun Chakraborty was released from a private hospital in Kolkata on Monday after being admitted on Saturday due to severe chest pain. According to the latest update from news agency PTI, Mithun assured everyone that he is "absolutely fine" and ready to resume shooting for his upcoming movies.
Mithun Chakraborty got a 'scolding' from PM Modi
Following initial reports that the BJP leader was in a 'quite stable' condition, it is now confirmed that the actor has been discharged. The 73-year-old was hospitalized on February 10 after experiencing intense chest pain. Mithun stated, "There is actually no problem, I am absolutely fine. I have to keep control of my food habits. Let's see; I may start working soon, maybe tomorrow."
So, why did Mithun Chakraborty get a 'scolding' from PM Modi? Mithun shared that he received a call from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, the actor "got a scolding for not taking care of his health".
About Mithun's ailment and statement from the hospital
Previously, the hospital officially stated that Mithun had experienced an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (stroke) of the brain. The veteran actor's health condition was thoroughly reviewed by senior doctors and therapists, and he underwent various clinical tests, including an MRI, according to a senior official from the medical facility.
The official statement read, "The official statement had read, "Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs. Necessary laboratory and radiology investigations were carried out including an MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain. Presently, he is fully conscious, well-oriented and has consumed soft diet. Shri Chakraborty is being further evaluated by a team of doctors including a neuro-physician, cardiologist and a gastroenterologist."
