Being a Mumbai girl Jiya also went on to share her favourite memories in the city, "I used to bunk college and go to Marine Drive. I've done all those things like enjoying Mithibai ki pav bhaji, though I was not in that college. Our college was a rival but Mithibai walon tumhai pav bhaji achchi hai."
Moving on to the places where she has memories with family, the actress said, "The year used to start with Siddhivinayak temple and so did every other good thing. That is one memory I have carried since I was little. Not a lot of people know that I used to live in Dombivali but even from there we would come to Siddhivinayak."
She also shared a funny memory about her friends being surprised by her Mumbaikar lingo. "My Hindi was messed up because I was born and brought up here. A lot of people from Delhi would tell me not to speak in Hindi specially that I should not use 'tu' it's 'aap.' I call my mother 'tu' and people would wonder how I could do that. I feel 'tu' is for someone close to you."
