Screengrabs from the viral video

On Friday morning, a video featuring reality star Uorfi Javed went viral leading to a certain amount of confusion. In the video, two female police officers take Uorfi to the police station for the "small length" of her outfit. While most netizens called it out as a prank, some believed the scenario. Now, Mumbai Police has strongly reacted to the video.

The Mumbai Police took to their social media handle and shared a screengrab from the viral video. The picture shows two women impersonating police officers. Sharing the image, they wrote, "One Can't Violate Law Of The Land, For Cheap Publicity! A viral video of a woman being allegedly arrested by Mumbai Police, in a case of obscenity is not true - insignia & uniform have been misused."

The team informed that the investigation is underway and the fake officer in the video has been taken under custody. "However, a criminal case has been registered against those involved in the misleading video, at Oshiwara Pstn under sections 171, 419, 500, 34 IPC. While further investigation is on, the fake inspector is under arrest & the vehicle has been seized too," the post read.

In the now-deleted video shared by a paparazzo, Uorfi was seen at a cafe for her morning coffee run when she was confronted by alleged police officers. Two female police officers are seen asking her to come along with them. When Uorfi questioned the reason for the same, the officer asked in return, "Itne chote chote kapde kaun pehenke kaun ghumta hai?" Uorfi is baffled but walks along with cops into their vehicle.

Later, Uorfi took to her Instagram stories and revealed that it was for an ad campaign and claimed that she was arrested by the 'fashion police'.

Meanwhile, Uorfi recently made headlines for her Halloween costume. She had recreated the Chhote Pandit look from 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa'. Just like the character, she painted her face red and wore an orange dhoti and a red top. She put a marigold garland around her neck and 2 incense sticks on her ears to complete the look.

Uorfi took to the social media handle X to share that she has been getting death threats for her look. Sharing her look and Rajpal Yadav's look along with screenshots of the death threat, Uorfi wrote, "I'm just shocked and appalled by this country mahn , I'm getting death threats in recreating a character from a movie where as that character didn't get any backlash :/".
