Nawazuddin Siddiqui
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is on a new mission to make hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh greener. He is appealing to the people in his village to grow trees. Over the weekend, the actor started a tree plantation drive in Safipur Patti village in Budhana. He planted 35 saplings and has set a target of 5,000 saplings in the coming months. Siddiqui, who considers himself a farmer, is enjoying returning to his roots.
Siddiqui has parked himself in his hometown. He has no intention of returning to Mumbai anytime soon. The lockdown in the state that has led to the halting of all film shoots and dubbing sessions has made the actor spend time with his folks. Last year, too, Siddiqui spent a greater part of the lockdown in his village pursuing farming, which comes "naturally to him" as he comes from a family of farmers.
Before the lockdown that brought films shoots to a halt, Nawaz wrapped up the shoot of his upcoming film 'Jogira Sara Ra Ra!'. Kushan Nandy's film will see Nawaz paired opposite Neha Sharma. The film was primarily in Lucknow and Banaras. Barring the songs, the cast and crew have completed the principal photography for the film and are euphoric about having completed the shoot within the planned time frame and with due safety precautions. The unprecedented times threw up various challenges during the shoot, but the team took them all in their stride to ensure optimum use of time and resources.
With 'Heropanti 2', Siddiqui will return to masala movies after his niche offerings, 'Raat Akeli Hai' and 'Serious Men' last year. "In all likelihood, Nawaz and Tara will play siblings in the movie. While Tiger filmed a significant part of the first schedule in Mumbai before the state-wide restrictions were levied, Nawaz is expected to join in the next schedule. Tiger will juggle this action thriller with the shoot of Baaghi 4," says a source. The project marks Siddiqui's reunion with Shroff after the dance film, 'Munna Michael' (2017).
