One of Bollywood's global icons, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, invited football legend David Beckham to her residence for an exclusive dinner party. He is currently in India to fulfill his commitments as a UNICEF ambassador. The dinner party was an intimate affair with only 25 people in attendance.
Sonam represented the Indian culture by wearing a red saree. She added a modern and contemporary touch to it by pairing the saree with a kaftan-style blouse. The actress matched her outfit with a choker and statement earrings. Sonam completed her look with a neat bun adorned with red roses.
David Beckham posed with Sonam and her businessman husband Anand Ahuja outside their residence in Mumbai. The actress wished the paparazzi a Happy Diwali before leaving.
A source close to the development had shared earlier today, "David Beckham is in India for his UNICEF commitment as a Global Ambassador & he will be meeting Sonam & Anand during his trip to Mumbai. The power-couple will be hosting David today when he is in Mumbai and have invited the crème de la crème icons of the city for a dinner at their residence!"
The source added, "It is a very private affair. We are hearing only 25 people have made the cut for this grand soirée! Sonam & Anand are major entrepreneurs themselves, with Anand being at the top of the heap with business empire. Sonam is Bollywood royalty and a global fashion icon."
David was at the India vs. New Zealand Semi-Finals 2023 held at the Wankhede Stadium today. He interacted with Bollywood celebrities like Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra. Pictures and videos of the footballer enjoying the World Cup 2023 went viral.
Workwise, Sonam is yet to return to acting post her maternity break. While she has been actively representing India globally on various levels, the silver screen misses her. After The Zoya Factor, she hasn't commenced the shoot for her next theatrical film. Sonam shot for the film, titled Blind, during the pandemic in Scotland. The remake released on JioCinema earlier this year.
In a recent statement, she confirmed the news of returning to sets with the cinematic adaptation of Anuja Chauhan's novel Battle for Bittora. The shoot is expected to start in 2024.
