Meanwhile, on the work front, Sunny Deol was last seen in 'Gadar 2'. The film directed by Anil Sharma also starred Ameesha Patel in the lead, bringing back the hit trio of 2001. Like the first part, the sequel of the patriotic drama was a smash hit at the box office. The film broke several records at the box office despite facing a box office clash with Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2'.
Sunny Deol's next film, titled Lahore, 1947 was recently announced. Aamir Khan's production house will be backing the film with Rajkumar Santoshi as the director. "I and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947. We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny and one of our favourite directors Raj Santoshi. The journey we have embarked on promises to be most enriching," the announcement note read penned by Aamir Khan.
Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol have previously delivered three box office hits together: 'Ghayal', 'Damini', and 'Ghatak'. Given this impressive track record, it's only natural to anticipate that their upcoming project will be nothing short of epic. Notably, Sunny Deol recently broke the box office with 500 Cr plus mega blockbuster 'Gadar 2'.
âLahore, 1947' also marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, 'Andaz Apna Apna'. With such legendary and talented creative names coming together for the first time, it seems like a MEGA treat awaiting our audiences.
