Bollywood actress Alaya F, who is gearing up for the release of her film 'Srikanth' alongside Rajkummar Rao, opened up on her âawful' experience on sets of certain films. She elaborated on how it came as a shocker since she was already a part of the entertainment industry.
In an interview with Puja Talwar on her YouTube channel, Alaya shared, "There are some films where I had awful experiences on set. You are working with people who just don't care about you. They don't really have your best interest at heart. You have to fend for yourself. You have to handle situations in which you are not treated nicely. That, for me, was my biggest shock. Because it happened after I had been in the industry for a while, realising that it was also a part of the job did not feel very nice."

She added, "When you work on a film, you really want it to be a safe, happy productive environment. Not to forget there is a big difference in the way men and women are treated in the film industry. There are some wonderful sets I have been on and there are some not so wonderful sets also. There is still a long way to go (in terms of gender equality). There have been many instances that I have had other female actors that I worked with also had."
Since her debut in 2020, Alaya F has portrayed diverse characters in several big-budget films. Alaya, the daughter of actress Pooja Bedi, made her debut in the Saif Ali Khan-starrer 'Jawaani Jaaneman'. She was then seen in the psychological thriller 'Freddy', followed by 'Almost Pyaar With DJ Mohabbat' and 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'. She will next be seen in 'Srikanth'. In 'Srikanth', RajKummar portrays the life of Srikanth Bolla. He is an Indian entrepreneur who founded Bollant Industries, employing unskilled and differently-abled individuals. Born visually impaired in 1992 near Hyderabad, his life story is inspiring.
The movie also stars Jyotika and Sharad Kelkar in the lead roles. Produced by T-Series and Chalk N Cheese Films Production LLP, the movie is directed by Tushar Hiranandani and written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit. 'Srikanth' is slated to have a theatrical release on May 10, 2024.
