Vikas Khanna has disclosed that film critics asked for hefty amounts for positive reviews of The Last Color (2020). The New York-based chef-turned-filmmaker opened up about the âoutrageous behaviour' of reviewers in B-Town and wrote that they had asked him to pay Rs 3 lakh for a three-star rating and Rs 4 lakh for a four-star rating for the Neena Gupta-starrer.
The film, directed and produced by Khanna, is based on his 2018 book by the same name. On Wednesday, the Michelin star chef tweeted, "Not forgetting this communication until death." Earlier, Khanna had opened up about nepotism and favouritism in the industry.
"When I used to hear Kangana Ranaut speak about the issue, it used to hurt my heart. But today, I experience it first-hand. Minions will not let outsiders enter even if they put their heart and soul in the craft. It's painful to hear, âPay or we'll destroy you'," he posted. Last week, The Last Color released on Amazon Prime Video. He wrote, "I care for viewers, not reviewers. My award is their love."
