Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor
Kriti Sanon and Shahid Kapoor will be seen sharing screen space for the first time in their upcoming yet-untitled film scheduled to hit the theatres in December. While the first poster of the film reflects an interesting chemistry between the pair, did you know they were roped in earlier to work on a film with Raj & DK. The film was, however, not made and was converted into a series that we today know as 'Farzi'.
Raj and DK's 'Farzi' was released on Prime Video earlier this year with Shahid Kapoor, Vijay Sethupathi and Raashii Khanna in prominent roles. But years ago, the filmmaker duo had plans to make it as a film with Shahid, Kriti and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead. Back in 2014, there were reports of the film going on floors by the end of the year and the pre-production was going in full force. The cast and the script was locked. However, the makers later decided to turn it into a web series which was released almost a decade later in 2023.

Back in 2015, a news portal quoted Raj Nidimoru, "Our film Farzi was initially to go on the floors at the end of 2014 but we were still working on the script. We recently finished the second draft and we still need two months before we go on the floors. By then, Shahid Kapoor will finish Udta Punjab, for which he has allotted three weeks. Eros is very much on board. In fact, from this month, Eros and our team have started working on the pre-production."
Well! the film was never made and Kriti Sanon did not end up being a part of the web series 'Farzi'. While Raj and DK's attempt to bring Shahid And Kriti together did not work, the two actors are looking forward to Dinesh Vijan's production. The romance drama, written and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Shah will be released on December 7. Billed as "an impossible love story", the movie will also feature veteran actors Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. The film was earlier supposed to hit the theatres in September.
