Kiara Advani and Varun Dhawan in Jug Jugg Jeeyo
Jug Jugg Jeeyo director Raj Mehta has a long way to go before he can heave a sigh of relief. The film's Chandigarh schedule was halted for two weeks last December after Varun Dhawan, Neetu Kapoor and Mehta had tested COVID-19 positive. Now, the comedy - also featuring Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani - has faced another roadblock in the ongoing junta curfew in Maharashtra.
The director reveals that he had lined up the second schedule for April. "Almost 60 per cent of the film is pending. We were supposed to shoot this month, but are faced with a challenge again," says Mehta. The filmmaker has little option but to delay the Mumbai leg, and seek a fresh set of combination dates from the actors. "We had shot the first schedule right after the first wave of the pandemic. It was difficult, and we did have cases on the set. But at the end of the day, you have to take safety precautions and trust the team," he says, unable to give a clear picture of the road ahead.
