Vilasrao Deshmukh birth anniversary 2024: Riteish & Genelia remember late father with heartfelt post

Riteish Deshmukh is the son of Maharashtra's former CM, Vilasrao Deshmukh. Today marks Vilasrao Deshmukh's 79th birth anniversary, and his doting son remembered him. Riteish Deshmukh, along with his wife Genelia Deshmukh and their two sons, celebrated Vilasrao Deshmukh's birth anniversary. The couple, in a collaborative post, shared pictures as they remembered their late father.

Riteish shared a great bond with his father, the former CM. In the post, we can see the first few pictures with Riteish and Genelia along with their kids with folded hands as they remember their father, while the last picture includes the entire family, including Amit Deshmukh, Dhiraj Deshmukh, and his wife Deepshikha Deshmukh, posing together. While sharing the pictures, Riteish used the popular track from Sandeep Reddy Vanga's "Animal," "Papa Meri Jaan." He wrote, "Happy Birthday Pappa," followed by three green heart emojis #vilasraodeshmukh.

For the occasion, Riteish wore a white kurta pyjama while Genelia opted for a matching suit. Meanwhile, the kids were seen wearing blue kurta pyjamas. As soon as Riteish dropped the pictures, fans started posting heartwarming wishes. One fan wrote, "Maharashtra State with long political journey from Sarpanch to Union Minister, presence, aggressive attitudes, administration handling skills, and awareness of the needs of the general people. Humble greetings on Vilasrao Deshmukh's birth anniversary...!" Another wrote, "Best CM of Maharashtra by Congress."

Vilasrao Dagadojirao Deshmukh passed away on August 14, 2012, due to multiple organ failure. He served as the 14th Chief Minister of Maharashtra, first from October 18, 1999, to January 16, 2003, and second from November 1, 2004, to December 5, 2008.

On the work front, Riteish Deshmukh will be seen hosting Bigg Boss Marathi alongside ace actor Mahesh Manjrekar. The promo for the 5th season of the show was released just a few days back, and fans are super excited to see Riteish hosting the reality show. Apart from that, the actor also has a few interesting films in his kitty. A few of them include "Housefull 5," "Raid," "Masti 4," among others. Meanwhile, Genelia will be seen in Aamir Khan's upcoming film "Sitaare Zameen Par."
