Nawazuddin Siddiqui; (right) wife Aaliya and son Yaani
On Wednesday, Nawazuddin Siddiqui celebrated his 47th birthday via video conferencing with wife Aaliya, son Yaani and daughter Shora. The actor is in his hometown Budhana in Uttar Pradesh, while his family is at their Kasara farmhouse on the outskirts of Mumbai. Nawaz shares his birthday with Yaani, who turned six. So the day calls for a double celebration for the Siddiquis. Aaliya had specially arranged for a cake for Yaani to cut at the stroke of midnight. Exactly a year ago, Nawaz and Aaliya's marriage hit a rough patch after Aaliya alleged abuse and misconduct, and later sent Nawazuddin a divorce notice, but all is well now.
In case you missed it, Nawazuddin and Aaliya got married 11 years back, and the duo is blessed with two kids. For the unversed, Nawaz's personal life has been under the scanner ever since his wife sent him a divorce notice in May. His estranged wife made startling revelations on social media what with allegations of abuse and misconduct.
Aaliya had reportedly complained in a recent interview that she is unable to pay her children's school fees as Nawazuddin Siddiqui has stopped paying her the monthly allowance. Post filing for divorce, the latter even changed her name back to Anjana Anand Kishore Pandey. Aaliya had said in the interview that she wants the sole custody of her children. "I have raised them and I want their custody," she had said.
On the professional front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be next seen opposite Neha Sharma in 'Jogira Sara Ra Ra!', a quirky tale of two people... NOT in love. The makers promise a fun vibe with the film which they hope to release theatrically in the second half of 2021. Produced by Naeem A. Siddiqui of Touchwood Multimedia Creations, the movie has Kiran Shyam Shroff as its Creative Producer and is written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali.
