Chunky Panday's mother Snehlata Panday passed away on July 10 due to prolonged illness in Mumbai. A prayer meet was held for her at the Pandey residence in Bandra. Host of celebrities came in to pay their respects.

Chunky Pandey's wife Bhavana shared an emotional post on her Instagram remembering her mother-in-law Snehlata Pandey. She wrote, "The Best !!!! Mom, Mom in Law , Grandmother to my kids , Inspiration in every possible way !!!!! Love you ! Miss you ! Rest in Peace [sic]"

Ananya Panday, who was close to her grandmother, shared an emotional post to remember her fondly. She wrote - "rest in power, my angel, when she was born the doctors said she wouldn’t live beyond a few years because of a defected heart valve, but my Dadi lived and how. She worked every day up until the age of 85, going to work at 7 am in her block heels and red streaked hair. She inspired me every single day to do what I love and I’m so grateful to have grown up basking in her energy and light. She had the softest hands to hold, gave the best leg massages, she was a self proclaimed (and very politically incorrect) palm reader and never ever failed to make me laugh. The life of our family. You’re too loved to ever be forgotten Dadi - I love you so much. [sic]"

Deanne Panday at Snehlata Pandey's prayer meet in Bandra. Deanne shared an emotional post to remember her mother-in-law and wrote, "You were the first person who inspired me to stay fit,you featured me on your book cover over 25 years ago “Slim now Stay Slim”the doctor to the stars,at that time you had experience in fitness & nutrition for over 32 years,a fitness pioneer,icon to me & so much more.Slimelle was one of the first slimming Center’s I had been to,working out with you,having your healthy dubba,you introduced me to haldi doodh every morning made by your hands.Thank you for being my inspiration,my strength,my love & life to my children & family.Never a dull moment with you,we danced,joked & always had only happy moments.You were funny,your sense of humour & had zest for living life to the fullest.You always said your work was your virtue & I learnt never to give up from you.A heart of gold,a mind of a genius,a body of a soldier,a soul full of happiness & love.You did everything for us & my children.From the day they were born they became your life & you lived life running circles around them looking after them,picking & dropping them to school,their pocket money came from you each & every time you earned.You gave us so much happiness that life is going to have a blank space without you. They say that you are in a happier place but i don’t believe that because your happy place was with us. We are a family & we shared a strong bond.Our Dadi,mom & mom in law, there was no one like you.Thank you for everything,thank you for being in my life,thank you for every smile,every laugh,every thoughtful moment as it always involved us,thank you for breathing life into all of us.We love you forever,our star amongst stars now,you will always shine brightest [sic]."

Alvira's brother Sohail Khan also came to pay his respects and offer his condolences to the family.
