International Women’s Day 2024: The 2023 film 'The Kerala Story' ranks at the top in women-centric films in India at the box office. Alia Bhatt and Kangana Ranaut has two films each in the top 10

'The Kerala Story' released in 2023 was directed by Vipul Shah and starred Adah Sharma in the lead. The film landed in controversies over its plot and managed to earn Rs 242.20 crore lifetime in India making it a film with the highest collection with a woman in the lead

Kangana Ranaut and R Madhava's comic drama 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' is also women-centric as the film largely centers around the character of Tanu. In this 2015 film, Kangana also plays a dual role. The film registered a lifetime collection of Rs 150.8 crore 

'Raazi' starring Alia Bhatt was directed by Meghna Gulzar and traces the story of an Indian spy in Pakistan. The 2018 film ranks at the third spot with a lifetime domestic collectiion of Rs 123.84

'Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi' starring Kangana Ranaut in the historical drama earned a lifetime collection of Rs 92.19 cr

'Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania's gal pal film 'Veere Di Wedding' earned a lifetime of  Rs 81.39 crore

The Dirty Picture (2011) sees Vidya Balan essay the role of yesteryear star Silk Smitha as the film narrates her journey. The film collected a total of Rs 68.16 cr at the box office

Sonam Kapoor's Neerja was a hard-hitting tale based on a real-life incident. The film earned Rs 75.61 cr lifetime at the box office

Alia Bhatt's film 'Dear Zindagi' directed by Gauri Shinde is a thoughtful tale of a young professional dealing with mental health issues. The film also sees Shah Rukh Khan in a special role. The film managed to earn Rs 68.16 cr lifetime in India

This power-packed film that made the line 'No means No' popular starred Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. The film that advocates a women's consent earned a lifetime of Rs 65.39 cr

Zaira Wasim-starrer 'Secret Superstar' which had Aamir Khan in a special role is an emotional and inspiring tale. The film collected Rs 63.40 cr at the box office
