Katrina Kaif, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Taapsee Pannu has been quite vocal about her journey. She had once shared that she was replaced from the film 'Pati Patni Aur Woh'. The film starred Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Ananya Panday

Taapsee also called out the makers on Twitter for their unprofessionalism. "One film out of my career is not going to make me lose a National Award. The problem wasn’t that. The problem was unprofessionalism which I wanted to call out"

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is one of the biggest stars of the country, has also been replaced in projects. She was initially signed to do 'Chalte Chalte' opposite Shah Rukh Khan but got replaced by Rani Mukerji

Reportedly, Aishwarya was replaced after her then-boyfriend Salman Khan would create nuisance on the film sets. The actress had also opened up about getting replaced on the Simi Garewal show

Deepika Padukone was replaced from Majid Majidi's film 'Beyond The Clouds' by Malavika Mohanan. It would be a dream for every filmmaker to have a superstar in their film, however, it was her stardom that got her replaced

“It was tough to organise things on the sets with a big star. For one day, we organised auditions with Deepika. I remember it was difficult to manage things as people wanted to meet her and were very curious. In my films, locations have character as well. In this film, I have tried to find a character in the location, which was Mumbai," the filmmaker had said about replacing Padukone

Harshvarrdhan Kapoor was approached for the National Award winning film 'Andhadhun' before Ayushmann Khurrana

According to reports, the actor was replaced due to creative differences. Director Sriram Raghavan wanted Kapoor to attend workshops but the latter refused to do so

Gulshan Grover was also replaced, but from a Hollywood film. He was replaced from the role of Le Chiffre in Casino Royale

Gulshan shared the information about the film before the official announcement. This did not sit well with the makers who then replaced Grover with Mads Mikkelsen

Bobby Deol was first approached for the hit film 'Jab We Met'. Shahid Kapoor eventually went on to play the lead role in the film directed by Imtiaz Ali

In an old interview, Deol had revealed, "There was a studio called Shri Ashtavinayak who wanted to sign me. I told them that let's sign Imtiaz. He has a script ready. And let's talk to Kareena Kapoor (Bobby had worked with Bebo in Ajnabee)." However, Kareena did not show interest in the project. Later, he got to know that Shri Ashtavinayak had struck a deal with Imtiaz and Kareena had also been brought on board

Bhumika Chawla was also replaced in 'Jab We Met' by Kareena Kapoor Khan. The actress revealed the same in a recent interview

"The only time I felt bad was when I signed Jab We Met and it didn't happen. I was the first one, Bobby (Deol) and me, when it was called Train. Then, it was Shahid (Kapoor) and me, and then Shahid and Ayesha (Takia), and then Shahid and Kareena (Kapoor). That’s how things happened, but it’s okay," she said in an interview

Ranveer Singh was replaced from the film 'Bombay Velvet' by Ranbir Kapoor. However, the film tanked at the box office

On Koffee With Karan, Singh told Karan Johar, "I was not rejected, K (Karan Johar). I was unceremoniously dropped because at the time I couldn’t justify the budget. My star value wasn’t high. But things have changed"

Radhika Apte who is one of the most versatile actors of the country was dropped from 'Vicky Donor' and was replaced by Yami Gautam. She was replaced for being overweight

"I had gone on a holiday for a month, drank a lot of beer, ate loads of food. I told them that I’ll come back and lose it. But they did not want to take a chance," she said on Neha Dhupia's chat show

Katrina Kaif was replaced in John Abraham-starrer Saaya in the early years of her career in the Hindi film industry

Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Katrina had said that she "got thrown out, not thrown out, let’s say replaced in a film called Saaya which was an Anurag Basu film with John Abraham and Tara Sharma. After shooting one shot, not one day but just one shot. At that time I thought my life was over. I thought my career was over"
