The film, based on Alex Garland's bestselling novel, starred Leonardo DiCaprio in the tale of a group of tourists who set up home in a Thai paradise with disastrous consequences, reported Daily Star.
'The Beach' garnered around 94 million pounds at the worldwide box office, and 12 years later bosses at the TV affiliate of the studio behind the movie have commissioned a small screen version.
Andrew Miller, the man behind teen series 'The Secret Circle', will write the script. "It's about a group of young people feeling disconnected and disenchanted from society who try to start over in paradise but discover that while creating the perfect world is hard, protecting it is even harder," he said.u00a0
